Florida Bail Schedules Explained
A bail schedule is a pre-set list of bail amounts by charge type. Each Florida county maintains its own schedule.
How It Works
- You're arrested and booked
- The jail looks up your charge on the county's bail schedule
- Bond is set at the scheduled amount
- You can post bond immediately (no need to wait for a judge)
When the Schedule Doesn't Apply
Judges can override the schedule at first appearance. They may increase or decrease bail based on: criminal history, community ties, flight risk, and danger to the community.
