Arrested in Oviedo? All Seminole County bookings process through the John E. Polk Correctional Facility. We connect you with licensed local bondsmen.
Oviedo has its own police department (OPD) serving this east Seminole County city of about 40,000 residents. All arrests transport to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford, about 20 minutes north on SR-417. Oviedo is home to the University of Central Florida's main campus area, though UCF itself sits in unincorporated Orange County.
UCF's main campus is technically in Orange County, but much of the student housing and off-campus social activity spills into Oviedo and the Seminole County side of Alafaya Trail. An arrest at a bar on Alafaya within Oviedo city limits goes to the Sanford jail (Seminole). An arrest on the UCF campus or the Orange County side goes to the Orlando BRC (Orange). The county line matters. For Sanford jail details, see our Sanford page.
Oviedo's downtown revitalization project, "Oviedo on the Park," has created a town center with restaurants, shops, and entertainment that generates nightlife-related arrests. The Oviedo Mall area on Red Bug Lake Road also contributes to retail and traffic enforcement. OPD's non-emergency line is (407) 977-6151 for arrest inquiries.
Eastern Oviedo extends into semi-rural areas with horse farms and natural preserves. The Econ River corridor and Geneva-area properties border the Seminole-Volusia county line. Arrests in these eastern reaches involve longer transport times to the Sanford jail. Seminole County inmate search is available at seminolesheriff.org.
Surety bonds (10% non-refundable premium) and cash bonds are accepted. Bonding agents must be registered with the Seminole County Clerk of Court. Call (941) 477-6888 to reach a registered Seminole County bondsman who can post at the facility.
All arrests in these cities are processed through the county jail. The booking and bail process described above applies to every one of them.
